In previous years Anssi was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Nokia until March 2011 and member of the Nokia Group Executive Board from 1998 to 2011. He is also Chairman of the Board of Amer Sports Oyj, one of the world’s leading suppliers of sports equipment and owner of Salomon, Atomic, Wilson, Precor, and Suunto brands.
All companies must adjust to their surroundings, and when it comes to times of economic recession –NOTHING IS SACRED. Though Antti argues that we must see the change in the tide, whether it’s economic down or upturn as a CHANCE TO LEARN. He goes further to claim that a large majority of LEADERSHIP EDUCATION is the PARTICIPATING and DECISION MAKING process leaders must take part in. BUT at the same time we CANNOT strip away the educational training programs especially within times of great change.
Regardless of peoples age, one of the best practices for leadership is to MIMIC what people older than you or younger than you have been through. That way if you associate with their experiences you will be able to lead them better. Anssi does however give us a tip for leading the Digital cowboys, – NEVER LOSE YOUR CURIOSITY– the curiosity which drives us to find new things, try new things ,and drive new things. Something, which we are gifted with at birthday and all too frequently, FADES WITH AGE
